Biography
“I don’t want to be one person onstage, then totally different off stage. I want to be who I am no matter where I am at.” -CJ English
Florida grown guitarist, CJ English, has spent a lifetime honing her guitar and vocal skills in both rock and metal subgenres, making her a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Driven by her desire for life-changing connections, she toured for 8 years with GFM, a band she co-founded with her two sisters, playing to audiences across the US and overseas. My vision
“I want to connect with people, give them a chance to be seen and heard,” CJ shares. “I want to have conversations. I want people to know that they’re worth loving and respecting.”
Through music, her testimony, and her love of people, CJ has been able to help many individuals, from counseling young women she has met on the road, to sharing the love of Jesus for hours to those who need to be heard and loved on. She believes God opens the doors for her, and in this chapter in her life, that means reaching out to anyone who is willing to hear her speak and offer them the truth.
THe sound
“I’ve always loved the free energy on stage, going crazy, letting go and not being so serious.”
-CJ English
Musically, that identity is a fusion of Nu-metal grooves in her riffs and Metalcore melodic vocals. She cites influences such as Linkin Park, Wage War, Avril Lavigne, Knocked Loose and System Of A Down. All of these bands boast the same authenticity and rawness that CJ English aims to embody.
